Chorizo and thyme fougasse

I can’t imagine that there’s even one person in the whole world who doesn’t love the smell of freshly baked bread. When I do my weekly grocery shop I have to stop myself scoffing all the bread on the way home. And, as with pretty much everything (except maybe things like cars), homemade is even better. (Perfume isn’t better homemade either. Remember when you were a kid and you made perfume with water and rose petals? At first it smelt really nice, but after a few days the water went really yellow and it smelt kind of sickly sweet verging on rotten. Homemade perfume definitely isn’t better than shop bought. Nuh uh). Click here if you love homemade bread (homemade perfume, not so much)

Sometimes The Book People come to my office. When this happens, I accidentally part with money in return for more cookbooks and then I sneak them home and put them on the bookshelf so that I can claim I’ve had them for ages when Chris asks where they’ve come from. I am experiencing high levels of confusion right now). Come inside if you want (your cookbooks) to live!

I have nothing to say about this except I wish I’d made four times as much so I could be stuffing my face with more of it right now. (more…)

I am terrible, TERRIBLE, at making decisions. Shall we go to this restaurant or that restaurant? Should I have cheesecake or sticky toffee pudding? Or the chocolate fondant? Do I really want garlic bread if I’m having pizza? (Yes, yes I do). And it’s not just food decisions I can’t make. Do I want to watch my new, exciting Lovefilm or another episode of the Sopranos? Do I want to read at lunchtime or go running? (Admittedly, deciding which I’d prefer here isn’t difficult, but oh, the guilt if I don’t run). Do I think this dress is beautiful or is it actually so hideous that it’s become interesting, but ultimately unwearable? (more…)

One pot recipes are my favourite to do. Just cut up the stuff and chuck it in a pan, then leave it to simmer for a bit. Easy! And there’s not even that much to clear up after. Not that I clear up. That’s Chris’s job 😀 Stop feeling sorry for him, I cook him nice food. (more…)
